Upcoming August Events

Summer is coming to a close, but the events are still coming in hot! Here's where you can soak up every last second of summer!



August 12-14th- The Ventura County Fair

Where: Ventura Fairgrounds

When: Opens at 1pm on Friday, 12pm Saturday and Sunday. Closes late.

Cost: $15 for adults, $10 for kids 6-12 and seniors, Free for kids under 5

If you haven't gone yet, make the Ventura County Fair the top of your to do list! "A country fair with salty air" is fun for the whole family and a foodies dream (so many food trucks!). The concert portion is done, but a rodeo will be closing out these final nights. More information here.


August 13th- Eat at The Stand to Benefit the Morrison Park Playground

Where: 966 S Westlake Blvd #3, TO

When: 11 am to 9 pm

Cost: Up to you

Devour a delicious meal at The Stand and help out a local cause in need! The Morrison Park Playground is in need of an upgrade and it is the vision of the community that this park will be inclusive to all abilities. They are working hard to raise their goal of $500,000. You can help them reach this goal by clicking here and by following the directions on the poster below.


August 13th- County Line Cars & Coffee

Where: 30770 Russell Ranch Rd, Westlake Village

When: 8 am to 10 am

Cost: Free

Attention car lovers! Every 2nd Saturday this FREE event takes place adjacent to the In-N-Out Parking lot in WLV. The LA Donut Truck will be present and serving up coffee and donuts.


August 13th- ABBA Tribute in Westlake

Where: 31800 Village Center Rd, WLV Berniece Bennett Park

When: 7 pm, food trucks open at 6 pm

Cost: Free

Enjoy the music of ABBA as performed by ABBA LA and enjoy food from Kona Ice, Ohana's Hibachi, and Rice Balls of Fire.


August 14th- CRPD Concerts in the Park- Everly Brothers Experience

Where: Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Ave. TO

When: 5 pm

Cost: Free

Featuring the music of the Everly Brothers. Enjoy dinner and a show, Mister Softee, Rock Chef Rolls, and Connie's Hot Dogs are committed to the event.



August 20-21st- 41st Wings Over Camarillo Airshow

Where: Camarillo Airport

When: 9 am both days, gates close 8pm on Saturday, 5pm Sunday

Cost: $30 per day for adults, $10 youth 6-16, under 6 Free. Military discount

The dream event for young future aviators! Per the Conejo Valley Guide: The airshow includes aerobatic performances from classic warbirds from the CAF, military aircraft, experimental aircraft, classic/exotic cars and motorcycles, War Veteran's Tent, WWII re-enactment camp, helicopter and airplane rides, VIP Chalet tent, as well as a variety of food and street vendors. The theme of the 2022 event is “Women in Aviation.”" Aerial performances are from noon to approximately 4 pm each day. Visit the website here.


August 21st- Concerts in the Park- Wanted

Where: Chumash Park, 5550 Medea Valley Dr, Agoura Hills

When: 6 pm

Cost: Free, donations encouraged

The City of Agoura Hills is sponsoring one last concert in the park. Brush up on your Bon Jovi and break out the hairspray, Wanted will be performing your favorite hits! Mister Softee is sure to be there, as well as the two other food trucks that have been at every other concert but for the life of me I can't remember their names at the moment.



August 25th- 10th Annual Kiwanis Club of TO Annual BrewFest

Where: 1378 Janss Rd, TO

When: 4 to 8 pm

Cost: $75

General Admission gets you unlimited pours by breweries, a limited edition BrewFest Collector Glass, unlimited food tasting from local restaurants, and live music. Click here for more information!


August 26th- Movie in the Park, Encanto

Where: Thousand Oaks Community Park, 2525 Moorpark Rd, TO

When: 6 pm

Cost: Free!

Movies start at sundown, but arrive early to enjoy the other activities! Per the website, refreshments will be available for purchase. I'm assuming that means food trucks?


August 26th, 27th, & 28th- The Throwdown Cornhole Festival

Where: Ventura County Fairgrounds

When: Friday noon to 10 pm, Saturday 10 to 10, Sunday 10am to 9pm

Cost: $25 a day, 3 day pass is $40, kids 12 and under Free. Parking onsite $20

This is the WORLD'S LARGEST cornhole event, I kid you not. Apparently ESPN televises it. These holers mean business and are throwing for cash and prizes, but don't worry, us mere mortals can enter more modest competitions. Or just watch and stuff our faces with Spencer Makenzie's tacos, which is what I will be doing. More info here.



August 27th & 28th- Hueneme Beach Festival

Where: 550 E Surfside Dr, Port Hueneme

When: 11 am to 7 pm

Cost: Free! And free parking.

Carnival rides, Children's activities, vendors, chalk art, sand sculpture, and live music. Visit the website for more information!


August 27th- Kids Fun Zone at Janss Marketplace

Where: Janss Marketplace

When: 12 to 2 pm

Cost: Free

"Summer Music Fun" The Beatbuds will be performing and there will be balloon twisting and Zumba.


August 28th- Sun Sets Summer Concert Series Surf City All Stars

Where: Calabasas Lake, 23400 Park Sorrento, Calabasas

When: 6 pm

Cost: Free

Sway to the music, hits by The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean will be playing at the final Sun Sets concert in Calabasas.


September 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th- 40th Annual Malibu Chili Cook-Off and Carnival

Where: 23575 Civic Center Way, Malibu

When: Depends on the day

Cost: $15 presale, $20 day of. Parking is $20 cash only

No plans for Labor Day weekend yet? Here you go. Friday 4-10 pm, Saturday 1-10 pm, Sunday 1-10 pm, and Monday 1-8 pm. Lots going on at this one, it is best to reference their website.


September 3rd- Ventura Nationals Car & Motorcycle Show

Where: Ventura County Fairgrounds

When: Gates open at 7 am

Cost: TBA but probably $15

September 5th- CRPD Concerts in the Park- Fan Halen

Where: 1175 Hendrix Ave, TO

When: 5 pm

Cost: Free

Van Halen fans gather round, it's time to party! At this final concert in the park of the summer.


September 8th- 20th Annual Margarita Mixoff and More

Where: The Gardens at Los Robles Greens, 299 S Moorpark Rd, TO

When: 5:30 to 8 pm

Cost: $45 in advance, $50 at event

Be fancy for a night. Admission allows for margarita tasting and appetizer sampling. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are also include. Buy tickets online and get more information here.



September 10th- Tiny Porch Concerts at Peter Strauss Ranch

Where: Peter Strauss Ranch, 30000 Mulholland Hwy, Agoura Hills

When: 5 to 9 pm

Cost: Free, but suggested donation of $20

Get your groove on! Coffis Brothers with John Surge and the Haymakers will be playing. Enjoy unique sounds in an equally unique venue. Click here for more information.


September 15th- Kansas Concert

Where: 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd, TO

When: 8 pm

Cost: Lots of options

Musical legend KANSAS is in town for their rescheduled show! This concert is in celebration of the 40 year anniversary of their Point of Know Return album. Tickets and more information can be found here.
